Gallatin College Montana State University is the two-year college for southwest Montana. The Communications and Outreach Manager will be responsible for marketing to area high schools, middle schools, industry partners, and the general community to raise awareness of Gallatin College.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and drive marketing efforts for Gallatin College, to include branding, recruitment materials, website, social media, and printed materials.
- Manage student recruitment for Gallatin College, including events at area schools and outreach to school counselors and administrators.
- Work with leadership team to manage the planning and organizing of ongoing public relations events and advisory committee meeting.
- Partner with MSU Communications to ensure all marketing/communications efforts are in compliance with campus standards.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or progressively responsible relevant experience or education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant experience with educational outreach/recruitment and marketing, in person, by telephone, and through business correspondence to a wide variety of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
- Demonstrated experience creating marketing materials for print, digital, and social media.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences with passion and enthusiasm.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in higher education setting, preferably at the community college level or high school or career counseling, or private sector community outreach
- Experience in communications, public affairs, or marketing/recruitment, inclusive of web maintenance and publishing programs.
- Experience coordinating outreach events for prospective students and community members.

- Effectively manage large volumes of sensitive data and protect confidential records.
- Work positively with teams and individuals of various backgrounds.
- Be able to travel and work in the evenings regularly.
- Exhibit competency in using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, website editing, presentation, email, internet, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite of products or other design software.
