The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) is seeking a versatile, proactive Communications Coordinator to help strengthen our digital communications and enhance engagement with stakeholders. The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in executing FSMTB’s communications and marketing strategy under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Public Relations. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects—from content creation and campaign development to event promotion and digital outreach. In addition to supporting existing programs, services, and events, the coordinator will also contribute to the development of new initiatives that expand FSMTB’s reach and strengthen engagement with regulatory members and the massage therapy community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns
- Design and produce marketing and communications materials including social media content, newsletters, graphics, and videos
- Support the planning, marketing, and logistics of FSMTB’s key events and special projects
- Maintain and update website content (WordPress experience preferred)
- Manage email campaigns and contact lists in Constant Contact
- Expand and strengthen FSMTB’s social media presence across platforms
- Assist with branding efforts and ensure consistency across all materials
- Conduct research and report on campaign effectiveness and engagement metrics
- Proofread and ensure clarity and accuracy in all external communications
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for clear, effective communication
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Digital communications and content creation experience, including social media and newsletters
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Constant Contact
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and project management
- Collaborative mindset and eagerness to contribute to team goals
- Video editing and basic design skills are a plus
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in communications, digital media, or a related role
- Experience in an association, nonprofit, or regulatory environment is a plus
- Ability to travel occasionally

All revenue supports FSMTB programs and services—including the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx)—to advance the quality and consistency of massage therapy regulation across the U.S.
