SUMMARY: The Community Support Associate (CSA) position exists to teach, coach, model and accompany persons with disabilities so that they are involved in family, neighborhood, civic, cultural and religious activities and events, meet new people, develop friendships, exercise choices and acquire competencies to maintain these activities and accomplish personal goals.
The Community Support Associate must demonstrate the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; read, interpret and apply written information such as policies, procedures, personal support plans, training and staff development readings; understand, develop and implement learning objectives and possess knowledge of basic household skills. The Community Support Associate must be physically able to lift and to participate in physical activities of daily living, possess a valid PA driver’s license, be able to operate an agency vehicle and have daily access to a privately maintained vehicle.
DIRECT SUPPORT STAFF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist individuals with daily living requirements including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal care.
- Encouraging individuals to participate in community activities and provide transportation for social outings.
- Provide individuals with necessary safeguards as defined in their individual plans and applicable agency policy and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all fire safety requirements.
- Handling general housekeeping tasks.
- Complete daily log, and other documentation for Individuals
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
PA State Police Criminal Check
Indentogo FBI fingerprint scan and report
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse class
Valid Driver’s License

10 hour shift, 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, weekends as needed
