Department Overview
The Consumer Insurance Department (CID) is responsible for the sales of Medicare and Non-Medicare products for individual and families. In addition to selling these products to new customers, the area is also responsible for the retention of existing customers.
Primary Responsibilities
The Consumer Market Advisor will be responsible for the presentation of all consumer product offerings in group and individual settings in accordance with state and federal marketing guidelines to assist in the enrollment and retention of new and existing members. The incumbent will cultivate new business and generate leads by establishing relationships within the Medicare eligible community, independent brokers, healthcare providers, government and community based officials. The incumbent will have the responsibility of coordinating and scheduling any individual and senior product sales and retention meetings in assigned territory.
Summary of Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current State of Alabama Department of Insurance Producer License; or eligible for licensing in AL within 90 days of employment
- In-depth knowledge of selling products and services
- Interpersonal skills in activities including problem solving, networking, presentations, staff training and strategic planning
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to locations within assigned territory through a reliable means of transportation
- In-depth knowledge of all individual and senior products sold by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama preferred
- Experience in outside sales with a proven successful record preferred
