Frequent travel to customer sites is required in this position.

The job:
As a Control System Specialist II, you will work in all areas of project implementation including vendor/end user/consultant interaction, programming, testing, and site support. This position is responsible for efficiently designing, testing, implementing, and completing projects in a timely manner while meeting or exceeding project specifications and budget requirements.
You will work with industrial control panel design documents including schematics, panel layouts, and bill of material. You will perform design analysis including fuse sizing, breaker sizing, wire sizing, and short circuit analysis.
You will perform in-shop testing and field startups, and provide support to Project Management, Sales, Drafting, Documentation, Purchasing and Production. You will take responsibility and ownership for project’s technical performance with respect to quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

What you will do in this role:
- Specify electrical control panels and systems to meet project specifications and division design standards.
- Coordinate with panel production personnel in the fabrication of control panels.
- Develop, maintain and use PLC and HMI applications per project specifications and across multiple platforms using division/industry standards and best practices.
- Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform “3-Way Check” of Control Panel Drawings.
- Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems for field installations.
- Technical documentation responsibilities include executing, utilizing, and redlining drawings, testing procedures, training plans, and sequences of operations.
- Notify Project Managers, Group Managers, of schedule/budget goals issues.
- Provide customers with technical support via phone, remote access, and onsite service.
- Attend training and continuing education related to industry.
- Perform activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
Education, Experience and Ability Requirements:
- Must have completed at least two (2) years of educational and/or work experience in the control and instrumentation field.
- Ability to assist in designing industrial electrical equipment and components, testing new software programs, creating technical specifications, test procedures and operation manuals.
- Working knowledge of office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Edge, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to read, interpret, redline, and process electrical schematics required.
- Demonstrate both willingness and ability to learn and apply new technical skills.
- Able to work in the field independently within responsibility constraints, engaging with technical and project leadership where appropriate, and the ability to use sound judgment in troubleshooting and commissioning industrial systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, vendors, company personnel, and subcontractors.
