Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Controller to oversee operational financial controls, cost tracking, reporting compliance, and data integrity across our U.S. operations. This position is distinct from the Finance department and will focus on cross-functional reporting, internal controls, and alignment with global standards.
The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between U.S. operations and our global headquarters in Italy, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and compliance with group-wide guidelines. Travel to Italy will be required for collaboration, training and alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain internal controls related to cost tracking, labor hours, production data, inventory accuracy, and fixed assets
- Ensure compliance with global reporting standards and group directives (outside of financial accounting)
- Work closely with Operations, HR, and Production teams to gather and validate site-specific data
- Prepare and submit recurring reports to the global headquarters (e.g., productivity KPIs, headcount, cost metrics, performance trends)
- Audit and standardize reporting formats across departments to ensure data accuracy and alignment
- Collaborate with counterparts in Italy to understand group requirements and ensure U.S. cluster compliance
- Support external and internal audits by preparing required documentation and providing explanations
- Lead efforts to continuously improve internal reporting processes, systems, and efficiency
- Serve as the primary U.S. contact for group-level operational audits or compliance reviews
- Travel to Italy as needed for training, audits, and process alignment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in operations control, plant cost control, or internal auditing (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
- Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks and operational reporting
- High proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally and internationally
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally to Italy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with European-based companies or international reporting structures a plus
- Multilingual (English required; Italian a strong plus)
- Experience with lean manufacturing, production metrics, or industrial operations
- Prior experience working independently from corporate finance teams
