Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Cost Engineer to join our team in the North East region of the United States. As a Cost Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, developing accurate estimates, and ensuring financial efficiency across our engineering and construction initiatives.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for complex engineering and construction projects using MII software
- Analyze project costs, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies
- Create and maintain project budgets, tracking expenses and forecasting future costs
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness
- Perform value engineering studies to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Prepare comprehensive cost reports and presentations for management review
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to ensure accurate and up-to-date cost data
- Contribute to the development and improvement of cost estimating processes and methodologies
Qualifications
- Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), Certified Cost Consultant (CCC), or Certified Estimator (CPE) or have comparable certification as well as experience with cost estimating software, specifically MII certification required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevent experience (USACE experience highly preferred)
- Proven experience as a Cost Engineer in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors
- Proficiency in cost estimating software, with specific expertise in MII
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in cost analysis and forecasting
- Excellent knowledge of project budgeting, financial planning, and risk assessment techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
Additional Information
Salary: Salary range is dependent on scope of work, location of project, as well as level of experience. This range could fall anywhere between $73k - $150k
