Starting at: - $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Hours: Various hours up to 20 hours per week. Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Art/Special Events Manager, the Cultural Arts Assistant is responsible for assisting with special department programs, events, and initiatives. Scheduled hours up to 20 hours a week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with the event planning process
- Update Theatre/event forms, mailings or signage as necessary
- Attend event planning meetings
- Coordinate Theatre and event volunteers
- Oversee specified on-site event activities
- Secure and put together event materials
- Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, sponsors and Supervisor
- Perform the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees
- Some nights and weekends required
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Order supplies, such as giveaways or concessions, may require some driving
- Complete rental requests as needed
- Fill out check requests as necessary
- Perform other duties as directed by the Art/Special Events Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Good knowledge of the Elk Grove Village Artists Association
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate preferred
- Experience and knowledge of artistic mediums and how to coordinate an art show a plus
