Pine Bluff Materials in Nashville Tennessee is seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our company as a Customer Service Representative/Scale Operator. You will use a computerized scale to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, logging information relevant to each truck, including vehicle type, tags, and driver. You accurately record this data for billing purposes and perform regular audits to ensure appropriate billing. This position requires moderate computer proficiency, and our ideal candidate has prior experience with trucking, data entry, and industrial workplace safety.
Job Description
Customer Service Representative/Scale Operator is responsible for weighing and ticketing aggregate / sand truck sales. Customer Service Representative/Scale Operator must communicate well with customers and interact with truck drivers and vendors in person as well as via telephone and radio. Must work well with and compliment truck loading personnel and be able to influence positively the safe operation of the aggregate / sand sales process. Ideal candidate will be positioned to support product sales as well as yard operations. Willingness to train on and successfully learn the scale computer system, running three separate scales at this location.
Basic Qualifications
- Must possess High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability and desire to work a 11.5-hour shift, 5 days per week, 5:00 am through 4:00 pm.
- Ability and willingness to do manual labor including occasionally lifting items at least as heavy as 50 pounds.
- Must have Reliable Transportation and good record of work attendance.
- Must be proficient with Windows based computer programs as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess ability to calculate percentages, fractions, manipulate and convert weights and measures as well as familiarity with sales tax and calculations.
- Must be excellent communicator and possess exceptional telephone and written communication skills.
