POSITION TITLE:
Data Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:
We have an exciting opportunity for an entry level data analyst. This is a direct hire full-time position. This position will assist in the gathering, organizing, and processing of large sets of data. They will collaborate closely with business teams to define data requirements, create reports, modify and transform data to improve operational efficiency and business performance. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings effectively are critical for success in this role. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collects and extracts data from various sources such as databases, APIs, flat files, third-party systems, FTP sites, etc.
· Analyzes and ensures compatibility and completeness of extracted data.
· Cleans, standardizes, and formats data to meet specific requirements.
· Researches and addresses missing values, duplicates, and inconsistencies within data.
· Applies business rules and logic for restructuring data (e.g., aggregations, normalizations).
· Imports and loads data into target systems, such as databases, data warehouses, cloud storage, FTP sites and/or third-party systems.
· Ensures and tests for data integrity and optimization for performance throughout their data processing steps.
· Develops ad-hoc reports, file extracts, and data-reconciliations.
· Analyzes complex datasets and statistical information to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Develop clear, concise, and actionable summary reports that effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making processes.
· Design and develop surveys using appropriate survey tools (i.e., Survey Monkey) to gather relevant data, analyze survey results, and create a comprehensive summary report that includes key findings, interpretations, and recommendations based on survey data.
· Performs additional related duties as needed.
· No supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES:
· Must possess strong analytical skills coupled with professional communication skills with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
· Ability and desire to research abnormalities within datasets and coordinate necessary changes across business units to improve the accuracy and completeness of our data.
· Ability to function comfortably and consistently within defined change management and event management protocols.
· Ability to write, modify, and execute complex SQL queries.
· Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to maintain operational support.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Informatics or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Proven experience as a data analyst or academically trained as one.
· Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
· Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
· Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED WORK HOURS/TRAVEL:
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and outstanding benefits, including tuition reimbursement, in a rewarding work environment. Evening and weekend work is minimal, only as job duties demand. This position does not require any travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & OBLIGATIONS:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and computer software programs, and is exposed to ambient room temperature.
