Job Summary The Data Integration Specialist will focus on assessing, planning, and converting legacy Microsoft Access databases currently used to a modern supported technology platform.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Integration Specialist to join our IT team. This position will be full-time , hybrid , and is a contract position .
What You'll Do
Analyze existing Microsoft Access applications and develop a comprehensive migration strategy
Convert and modernize Access databases by migrating data, rebuilding forms, and upgrading user interfaces
Refactor legacy code and queries to enhance performance and maintainability
Validate functionality and data integrity through structured testing processes
Deploy modernized solutions and provide end-user training, documentation, and long-term support plans
Conduct discovery and requirements gathering by inventorying databases and engaging stakeholders
Analyze existing data connections and plan integration with target platforms
Evaluate current security configurations and implement role-based access control in the new environment
Redesign database schemas and optimize performance to meet enterprise standards
Develop a migration playbook and provide hands-on training for client staff
Execute the transition of Access databases into a secure, scalable data warehouse environment
Develop internal and external interfaces, custom reports, and data entry forms
What You'll Need
Required:
Proven experience with Microsoft Access database architecture and conversion
Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing and integration strategies
Proficiency in SQL, VBA, and modern database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Azure)
Experience with data migration tools and methodologies
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
Ability to optimize database performance and redesign schemas
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience in training and mentoring technical staff
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
The pay range for this position is $55 - $65 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave as provided by applicable law.
