Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth operation within the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and proficiency in various dental software systems.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage patient records and documentation using EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
- Schedule appointments and handle patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and medical history.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as required for various dental procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
- Assist in various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental assisting with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining an aseptic technique.
- Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and dental terminology.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members.
- Experience with medical documentation, coding, and managing medical records is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
