Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional chairside assistance to the dentist, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, and proficiency in various dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed.
- Assist in various dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
- Utilize medical imaging technologies such as 3D scanners when applicable.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental software systems (Dentrix) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding is essential.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding of medical imaging techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining medical records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
