JOB TITLE: DENTAL RECEPTIONIST
NON-EXEMPT (Hourly)
Fast-paced dental office is looking for a full time dental receptionist. Must be a friendly people person who is detailed oriented and able to work with multiple interruptions. Accurate data entry and competent computer skills are necessary.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Answer the phone in a pleasant and courteous manner.
- Greet patients as soon as they enter the office.
- Confirm patient’s current contact information and insurance information.
- Schedule dental appointments.
- Basic clerical duties
- Respond courteously and knowledgeably to inquiries from patients, dental staff and other staff.
- Ensure messages are handled in a precise manner.
- Notify clinical staff of schedule changes as they occur.
- Retrieve voice mail messages throughout the day to ensure messages are recorded and followed up.
- Ensure that the hygiene schedule is full and cancellations are filled immediately.
- Maintain list to fill vacancies on the schedule for dentist and hygienist.
- Data entry and scanning.
- Take patient payments.
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
- Prefer at least one-year experience in a dental office.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
- Friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend instructions in English.
- Ability to speak and read Spanish is helpful.
