Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Steritech Cross-trained professional to join our dynamic dental team. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of sterilization and infection control within our practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both dental assisting and sterilization processes, with the ability to support various dental procedures across general and pediatric dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization of dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during procedures by providing necessary tools and materials while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory of dental supplies.
- Support front office functions as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records using software such as Eaglesoft
- Monitor vital signs of patients when required, ensuring their comfort and safety during treatment.
- Collaborate with dental receptionists to facilitate smooth patient flow within the practice.
- Stay updated on best practices in medical coding relevant to dental procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental assisting role is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry and pediatric dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using a dental software system such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures in a clinical setting.
- Ability to perform basic medical coding for dental procedures is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on teamwork and patient care.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
