At Zimmerman Truck Repairs, Inc. we employ some of the best and most highly skilled technicians who work hard to deliver safe and dependable equipment to our drivers and our customers. We work closely with the OEMs for training, equipment, tooling and software to provide the best-in-class care our fleet and our customers have come to expect.
We are currently seeking both FULL or PART time Diesel Technicians to fill open slots on our 2nd shift. Work hours are Monday thru Friday from 4:00pm to 12:30am.
Responsibilities:
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance
- Tire replacement, rotation, repair
- PM’s
- Mechanical inspections and repairs
- Trouble shooting & repairing diesel engines, transmissions, emissions & exhaust systems, cooling, brakes, electrical, fuel, and chassis
- Perform roadside repairs / road calls.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel experience or education preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required, vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred or be a Military Veteran.
- Pass a drug screen and background check
- Ability to provide own set of basic tools within 30 days of hire
- Valid driver's license
Helpful experience:
- Computer-Based diagnostics: interface with modern truck interfaces
- Paccar, Cummins, Navistar, CAT, ASE, & 609 certs
- Valid CDL & Medical card
- Mobile & on call experience
- Transmission, rear, and driveline repair experience
- Knowledge of air brake systems
- Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- PA State Inspection Mechanic Class 3, 4, or 7 (PREFERRED)
- Willing to perform roadside repairs (PREFERRED)
Compensation:
- Compensation will be based on experience and aptitude.
