Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in a hospital or nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary department by ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs. This position requires a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation practices, as well as excellent customer service skills to enhance the dining experience for our patients.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure that all food handling and sanitation practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and dining areas, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
- Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions for residents.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during meal service.
- Assist in inventory management, including monitoring food supplies and reporting shortages to supervisors.
- Participate in training sessions related to culinary skills, food safety, and dietary aide responsibilities.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with culinary practices, food safety standards, and dietary aide responsibilities is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and sanitation practices.
