Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Communications and Community Engagement is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive, strategic, and proactive communications and community engagement program for William S. Hart Union High School District. The Director of Communications and Community Engagement plans, organizes, develops, communicates, and disseminates information and publicity related to District events, activities, programs, policies, and initiatives. The Director of Communications and Community Engagement will ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication of the district's mission, vision, goals, achievements, and critical information, while also actively seeking and incorporating community input and involvement. This role will foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, community members, local businesses, media, and the Board of Education.

The Director of Communication and Community Engagement serves as a liaison between the District and media outlets, preparing press materials and coordinating interviews to facilitate accurate and positive coverage of District activities. Oversees the District's social media presence by managing the creation and scheduling of content, monitoring engagement, and responding to inquiries to maintain a dynamic and interactive online community. Ensures all communications reflect the District's brand identity and uphold its reputation, utilizing design tools and templates to maintain visual consistency.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or a closely related field and three years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field. Additional experience may be substituted for higher education on the basis of two years of experience for one year of college.

Valid California driver’s license.
