Position Overview
The Office of Prince George’s County Council Chair Edward Burroughs III (District 8) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Constituent Services. This senior-level role serves as the Chair’s direct link to County residents, government agencies, and community leaders. The Director will manage all aspects of constituent services, lead follow-up on community concerns, and accompany the Chair to key events and meetings. The ideal candidate is responsive, organized, and committed to public service. This position requires evening and weekend availability, and a personal vehicle is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Constituent Services & Casework
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Chair’s office and all Prince George’s County agencies to resolve constituent issues.
- Ensure all constituent inquiries—via phone, email, or mail—receive a response within 72 business hours.
- Maintain and manage the constituent services tracking log; monitor progress and ensure timely resolution.
- Provide detailed follow-up to constituents throughout the casework process and document all outcomes.
Community Engagement & Events
- Attend all major community events, meetings, and public appearances with the Chair to provide constituent services support and ensure proper follow-up.
- Represent the Chair’s office at neighborhood association meetings, faith-based gatherings, town halls, and other local events.
- Identify recurring community concerns and trends to inform office priorities and outreach efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, civic groups, and advocacy organizations.
Office Operations
- Manage the front office phone lines and ensure high-quality constituent interaction at all times.
- Supervise and support interns or assistants involved in constituent services.
- Coordinate with policy and communications staff to ensure constituent matters are addressed holistically.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in government, constituent services, or community engagement.
- Proven track record of case management and community-facing service delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, including attending events with the Chair.
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license highly preferred.
- Deep familiarity with Prince George’s County agencies and communities is a plus.
