GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role is critical to the success of Allegheny Health Network's institutes, providing comprehensive compensation support to the Allegheny Clinic. The incumbent drives collaboration with AHN executive leaders, Institute Finance Directors, hospital CFOs, finance shared services, and other key stakeholders to ensure shared success.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.(20%)
  • Oversee physician compensation activities for Allegheny Clinic’s (AC) employed physicians and independent contracts, aligning with the network’s strategic objectives and market changes.(10%)
  • Manage physician business plans, strategy development, and contracting processes. Partner with Institute Finance Directors to assess, revise, and administer all provider compensation models (individual contracts and compensation plans).(10%)
  • Oversee needs-based staffing (NBS) and supplemental compensation processes, from design to collaboration with HR to processing payments.(10%)
  • Manage and support physician compensation plans through annual life cycles, including adherence between compensation plans and business planning.(10%)
  • Responsible for AC's standardized and ad hoc physician compensation reporting requirements - including submissions for benchmark survey data to our key external partners.(10%)
  • Monitoring synchronization between contracts, Workday, PEARs, and inter-company transfers. Serve as the point person between Institute and Hospital leadership regarding PEARs.(10%)
  • Ensure strong and effective collaboration with Physician Contracting, Legal, Payroll, Finance, Real Estate, Operations, Internal Audit, and other key areas.(10%)
  • Oversee and support business requirements for the physician contract management system and the provider facing compensation and productivity analytics modules.(10%)

Q UALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • 7 Years in Finance
  • 3 Years in Project Management
  • 1 Year in Management or leadership role
  • Prior experience and demonstrated proficiency with the development, assessment, and administration of physician compensation plan models, or comparable experience in a relevant industry.

Preferred

  • Masters in Finance, Business, or related field

SKILLS:

  • Proficient/knowledgeable in accounting and finance terminology.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills, specifically as it relates to resolving payroll and accounting issues.

Pay Range Minimum:

$56.98

Pay Range Maximum:

$91.17

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
