Dishwasher/Bus Position
The Dishwasher/Busser is responsible for maintaining the sanitation of all dishware and the area this process occurs in. The Dishwasher will work with pace and purpose to clean all items brought to the dish pit and obtain additional items needing sanitation from the cook line, prep area or FOH bus cart area as needed. Bussing details include clearing tables and bringing all dirty dishes to the dish area. The Dishwasher/Busser reports to the Kitchen lead and/or General Manager.
Job Activities
- Maintains all sanitary requirements when handling items on the ‘dirty’ side of dish and the ‘clean’ side of dish
- Maintains open communication channels with the cook line to provide any necessary dishes as needed or remove dirty bus tubs
- Can identify all food items and is able to retrieve and provide them to the cook line as requested.
- Clean up station and sanitize station in accordance with Health Code
- Stock inventory appropriately and without any wet stacking
- Tests concentration of dishwashing chemicals daily using test strips
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
- Completes all back of house activities as needed
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning activities per the scheduled checklist in addition to any specialty cleaning activities assigned by KM
- Attend All Staff meetings each month
Skills and Abilities
- Takes instruction well and responds immediately to requests from the line
- Accuracy and speed in completing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices including all food safety standards. Familiarity with ServSafe practices required
- Ability to see tasks that need to be completed and do so without oversight.
- Ability to work independently to complete daily and weekly tasks as well as a member of a team in accomplishing the bigger vision of providing an exceptional dining and guest experience.
