Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential for supporting our culinary team and providing excellent service to our guests.
Duties
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and ensure that all items are organized and stored properly.
- Help with bussing tables by clearing away used dishes and utensils promptly to maintain a tidy dining area.
- Set up workstations before meal prep begins
- Support kitchen staff by cleaning cooking equipment and assisting in maintaining a clean workspace.
- Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food service and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during peak hours.
- Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
- Remove garbage regularly
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
- Knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- Willingness to assist in various tasks as needed within the culinary team.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift moderate weights as required by the job duties.
