General Responsibilities:
The Drama/Theater Teacher promotes drama/theater to both students and adults in our school community. The position requires you to craft and present lessons, develop teacher materials, and build relationships with students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach drama/theater courses in grades K - 12
- Build motivation and interest in learning
- Prepare effectively for class and provide documentation of students’ progress.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use research-based practices
- Develop an environment that supports student learning
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Content area teaching certificate.
- Special education certificate.
Top Skill(s):
- Ability to plan and implement an instructional program in Drama/Theater.
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communication
- Ability to participate in physical restraint of children
- Manages student behavior, assesses student performance, and modifies instructional activities as required
- Proficient PC skills, including Google Classroom, Documents, Sheets, and Slides.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a school setting.
