Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals in our community. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, promote their independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, particularly in areas such as home community care, memory care, and hospice care.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor patient health and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Support clients in daily activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and transportation.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting privacy and promoting dignity in all interactions.
- Engage clients in social activities to enhance their emotional well-being and foster community connections.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Assist with long-term care planning and coordinate with family members or guardians as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and medication administration protocols.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for client needs.
- Ability to provide home community care with compassion and respect for individual preferences.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
