Field Engineering Technician

Terracon is hiring 1–2 Field Engineering Technicians to join their team this month. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to break into the construction industry — no experience required. If you're reliable, hands-on, and like being outdoors, this is a strong first step toward a long-term career in construction, materials testing, or civil engineering.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to local construction sites in a company vehicle to perform:
- Soil testing
- Concrete testing
- Reinforced steel inspections
- Occasional lab work
- Work both independently and under the direction of a project manager or field supervisor.
- Communicate clearly with contractors and represent Terracon professionally on job sites.
Who This Is For
- No prior experience is required — training is provided (2–3 weeks classroom/hands-on + 2 weeks field shadowing).
- You enjoy physical, outdoor work and being part of the construction process.
- You’re reliable, a team player, and have a strong work ethic.
- You’re interested in learning and growing in the construction or engineering field.
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must pass a drug screen (completely clean).
Background check may be required (pending clarification).
Pay & Schedule
- $22–$24/hour starting pay for candidates with no experience.
- Higher pay available for those with relevant certifications or past field work.
- 1.25x pay differential for overnight work (rare).
- Monday–Friday, ~7AM–3PM or 8AM–5PM typical hours. Some rotating Saturdays may be required (no Sundays).
- Winter slowdown (Dec–Feb): ~35–45 hrs/week, but opportunities to cross-train in other departments if desired.
Bonus Qualifications (Not required, but great to have)
- ACI Certification
- Field Tech 1 Certification
- Nuclear Density Gauge Certification
- Engineering degree or coursework

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
