HWA law firm is looking for an Entry Level Legal Assistant for our Foreclosure Department. A Legal Assistant assists and provides a range of legal support and administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Open new referrals and data entry
- Retrieve, upload and review documents
- Review and prepare letters
- Communicate with clients via email, phone and client systems via internet
- Request and follow up with client for documents and account information
- Meet all client and court deadlines and requirements
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, declarations and agreements
- Organize and track case files assigned
- Proof legal forms and documents for accuracy
- Provide regular and timely status updates on files
- Escalate issues timely when necessary
- Team player and assist with other duties and special projects as needed
- Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Maintain good client relations
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to manage and prioritize large case load
- Demonstrates strong written and professional verbal communication skills
- Effectively communicate with all clients (via Client Systems, e-mail and phone)
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance
- Must be a team player and willing to help others when necessary
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
- Develops professional relationships and builds rapport with others
- Overall good work ethic and willingness to adapt to change

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
