The Executive Director for Marketing and Communications develops, implements, and manages FTCC’s strategic marketing plan, including branding, promotion, institutional communications, media relations, and public affairs to support the College’s mission and goals. Develops and executes an annual communications and marketing plan to enhance the College’s image and support student retention while ensuring consistent and timely messaging across media channels. Oversees the production of College publications and promotional materials, coordinates public relations events, supervises media services staff, and develops key performance indicators to evaluate marketing and PR effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications and branding strategies across all platforms and materials that promote enrollment, retention, alumni engagement, and community visibility aligning with the College’s strategic plan.
- Serve as the College’s chief marketing and public relations officer, overseeing branding, advertising, media relations, social media, crisis communication, and internal communications.
- Collaborate with leadership across all functional areas of the College to effectively market programs, resources, events and the overall value propositions of FTCC.
Brand Management:
- Strengthen and maintain a consistent brand identity across all platforms and materials. Including campus signage and merchandise
- Ensure brand standards are upheld by internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Increase brand recognition of the College as the leader in workforce development in the College’s service area.
- Oversee creation and production of College publications, promotional literature, advertisements, and multimedia assets.
Marketing:
- Collaborate with leadership from the various departments to design targeted marketing and promotional campaigns that support recruitment, retention, and student success.
- Assist staff in the Office of Human Resources to recruit talent that meets the staffing needs of the College.
- Assist the President and Executive Council with developing presentation materials for board meetings, public presentations and special events.
- Support the President’s Office with developing publications such as the Annual Report, State of the College video, and other promotional materials to convey the impact and return on investment of the College.
Media and Public Relations:
- Act as the primary liaison between the College and local, regional, and national media outlets.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, speeches and talking points, and official College statements. Promote new programs and student and alumni accomplishments.
Digital and Content Strategy:
- Lead the design, management, and optimization of the College’s website and social media presence.
- Ensure timely and relevant content updates, accessibility compliance, and user engagement across platforms.
- Work with internal and external teams to leverage digital marketing tools and SEO strategies to improve reach and engagement.
Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage department budgets and vendor contracts to support year-round marketing activities within fiscal constraints.
- Establish and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of communication and PR initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the marketing, communications and media services staff; foster a collaborative, inclusive and growth minded work culture.
Community and Internal Engagement:
- Support executive leadership in community engagement initiatives, public appearances, and during campus emergencies.
- Lead internal communications strategies to enhance employee awareness and alignment with institutional goals.
- Work with President’s Office to coordinate and facilitate Fall and Spring Convocations, Board of Trustee meetings, and other special events.
- Assist the Coordinator of Events with planning, organizing, and staffing special events held on campus.
- Participate on the Commencement Graduation Planning Committee and oversee the trustee and VIP participation.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Education, Broadcasting, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing, communications, public relations, education, business, or a related field.
