Job Description:
BACR's Expanded Learning Program at Herbert Hoover Middle School is seeking committed and passionate Program Instructors to change the future of students by leading academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our programs in San Francisco. As a Program Instructor you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an expanded learning setting. Be part of an innovative and creative team that impacts the community, makes the world a better place, and provides equity in education.
Commitment: August 2025 to June 2026 (Full Academic School Year)
Benefits:
Pay rate: $23 - $26 per hour based on experience and location

Minimum Requirements
Some experience with middle school aged youth required
Ability to reliably commute to San Francisco, CA
Commitment to education equity and leadership
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to walk or stand for long periods
Ability to work 20 - 40 hours a week Monday -Friday
Preferred:
Commitment to a full school year
Ability to practice open, clear, and consistent communication and commitment to participate in professional development.
Responsibilities:
Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students.
Provide a safe environment
Be a positive role model for struggling students
Engage students in lesson plans that support school day learning
Run community circles based on restorative practices
Ability to collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)
Ability to model BACR Best Practices as shown in our website
