Overview
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Balanced Dog Trainer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is well-versed in a variety of training tools and techniques, with a strong understanding of canine behavior and learning theory. This role requires a confident leader who can guide both dogs and their owners through customized training plans using a balanced approach. Responsibilities
- Create and execute tailored training programs using balanced training methods based on individual behavior assessments and goals.
- Lead private sessions, group classes, and potentially board & train programs, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Educate clients on the proper use of training tools, including prong collars, e-collars, and slip leads, with a strong focus on timing, consistency, and clarity.
- Coach pet owners on reading dog body language, setting clear boundaries, and maintaining training results at home.
- Track progress through detailed session notes and make necessary adjustments to programs to ensure continued success.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients throughout their training journey.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and continuing education relevant to balanced training.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional dog trainer using balanced training methods.
- Solid understanding of dog psychology, body language, and behavior modification.
- Confident in working with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and behavioral challenges.
- Comfortable with tools such as e-collars, prong collars, and long lines, with proper and ethical usage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide and support pet owners.
- Experience in selling training programs or conducting consultations is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Previous experience in group class instruction, in-home sessions, or board & train environments preferred.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
