Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong background in customer service. As a Shift Leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensure the well-being of animals, and provide exceptional service to our clients. This role requires effective leadership skills and the ability to handle various responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Provide hands-on care for animals, including dog handling, animal restraint, and general pet care.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving of animals or supplies as needed.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed while handling animals in the kennel.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the facility.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Train new staff members on animal handling techniques and customer service best practices.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians when necessary for animal health assessments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a leadership role within an animal care or customer service setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and general animal care techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and pet grooming is a plus.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or in pet sitting is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
