Position Summary
Milwaukie Lumber Co. is seeking an Experienced Lumber Yard Load Builder to join our yard operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently assembling, staging, and loading lumber and building material orders for delivery. This role requires strong knowledge of lumber products, accuracy in order fulfillment, and the ability to operate forklifts and yard equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, assemble, and load lumber, hardware, and building materials based on customer and contractor orders.
- Secure all loads to meet DOT and Milwaukie Lumber Co. safety standards.
- Safely operate forklifts, loaders, and other yard equipment to move, stage, and load materials.
- Verify accuracy and quality of incoming and outgoing orders.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient lumber yard.
- Collaborate with dispatchers, delivery drivers, and yard staff to meet daily production goals.
- Provide excellent service to contractors, builders, and walk-in customers when assisting in the yard.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a lumber yard, building materials supply, or construction warehouse is required.
- Knowledge of lumber grades, dimensions, and building products.
- Forklift certification or experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in load building.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Dependable team player with strong communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
