Regional Outside Sales Manager – Municipal, Contractor & Institutional Equipment

North Dakota, South Dakota, and /or Minnesota (Remote, with regional travel)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and experienced Regional Outside Sales Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for promoting and selling industry-leading truck and public works equipment to a diverse customer base, including city, county, and state government agencies, school districts, non-profit organizations, and contractors.
Many of our products are pre-approved and available through multiple cooperative purchasing contracts, streamlining the procurement process for public agencies and institutions. This provides you with a strong advantage in the field and increases your ability to close sales efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional with a proven track record in outside sales and customer relationship development to manage a regional territory and contribute directly to the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and expand a regional customer base across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Northern Minnesota, including:
- Government agencies (city, county, state)
- School districts and educational institutions
- Non-profit organizations
- Private contractors and construction firms
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers
- Conduct in-person product demonstrations and presentations that clearly communicate the features and benefits of equipment offerings
- Leverage available cooperative purchasing contracts to simplify the buying process for eligible customers
- Collaborate with the internal sales and support teams to align on strategies, goals, and customer solutions
- Provide timely and professional follow-up to inquiries, quotes, and service requests to ensure high customer satisfaction
- Utilize CRM tools to log daily activities, manage pipeline, and produce accurate sales forecasts and activity reports
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market developments to identify new sales opportunities
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of successful outside sales experience, preferably in the equipment, public works, construction, or government procurement sectors
- Demonstrated experience selling to municipal agencies, school districts, non-profits, and/or contractors strongly preferred
- Knowledge of government purchasing processes and experience working with cooperative contracts (e.g., Sourcewell, HGACBuy, Omnia Partners, etc.) is highly beneficial
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a sales territory independently
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is a plus but not required
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region

Pay: $38,870.00 - $98,000.00 per year
