Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Supervisor to assist and oversee the receiving operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring efficient receipt and processing of incoming materials, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of logistics and warehouse operations. Familiarity with military packaging a plus.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming shipments.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in receiving operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Oversee materials handling, including heavy lifting and proper storage of received goods.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to streamline shipping and receiving processes.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices in warehouse operations and safety protocols.
- Monitor team performance, providing feedback and support to foster a productive work environment.
Skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques and equipment.
- Proven experience in process improvement initiatives within a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar inventory management systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including logistics management.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of individuals.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a similar supervisory role is preferred.
- Attention to detail, maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Mechanical knowledge is an asset for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
