Job Description
Make quality preforms and load into line extrusions
Check preform mixes according to manufacturing specifications and fill out preform record form
Clean and prep preform press, center shaft, bottom plate and insert separator tube if required
Pour PTFE into preform press and use scanner to print labels based on preform measurements
Review current jobs on extrusion line, check line extrusion speeds for accuracy and adjust extrusion/let down speed as needed and record on chart
Set up tooling for next job, load preform into applicable line extrusion according to manufacturing specifications, add running job information to board
Use, make and recycle preform stumps, measure scrap and record
Clean and polish tooling regularly, update tool polish logs as needed, practice tooling preservation program
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices
Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines
Report production issues to Direct Lead
Perform work of an equal or lower classification
High School Diploma or GED, recognizes International Diplomas (may need to be translated to English)
U.S. Citizen or permanent residency status required
Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications, understand and use shop math, use and interpret measuring instruments (calipers, stop watch, gauges, calculator, etc.)
Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate department equipment
Must be able to work and communicate with peers
Must be able to adapt to production needs to satisfy customer demands
Must be able to write legibly, read and speak English
Basic understanding of lean fundamentals preferred
Physical & PPE Requirements:
Standing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, banging, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), walking, working under normal conditions. Exposure to fluropolymer resin and isopar. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and ear plugs (85-90 dB) are all required PPE. Knee pads are optional PPE. All PPE provided by Company.
