Fabricator & Millwright

FUNCTION: The Millwright & Fabricator will make parts as needed for customers and jobs. Fabricate welded square bins in the shop. May be required to take a service truck out as needed for repair work and help other crews.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· A clear understanding of the operation of mechanical systems

· Ability to read and understand blueprints

· Prefer 5 years or more fabricating experience

· Strong communication and time management skills

· Use of press brake, shear, iron worker, saw, lathe and other shop machines

· Able to weld steel, aluminum, and stainless steel

· Must have a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred

PRIMARY DUTIES:

· Unload and check in equipment delivered to shop

· Review blueprints and fabricate parts for projects

· Organize and keep track of equipment in yard and stock room

· Organize and order steel for shop

· Field service work as needed

· Maintenance and upkeep on trailers, forklifts, scissors lift, and shop equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Travel and overnight stays as needed based upon customers’ and managements’ needs

· Subject to weather conditions when at job sites

· General shop setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Coordinate eye-hand movements

· Use hands and fingers fully

· Reach for, manipulate, and handle objects

· See and hear well (either naturally or with correction)

· Lift and carry objects weighing up to one hundred pounds

· Stoop, lay, bend, squat, kneel, crouch and/or crawl for unforeseeable periods of time

· Need to climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures

· Occasional driving of service truck with trailer

EVALUATION:

· Timely and accurate production of parts fabricated in shop

· Clear and timely communication with field crews to get them what they need

· Clear and timely communication with office staff

· Customer satisfaction of all projects

POSITION LOCATION: Vita Builder’s Office, Fall River, Wisconsin

SCHEDULE: Averages 40 to 50 hours a week, Primarily Monday thru Friday; overnight and weekend work may be needed on occasion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
