Job Summary: Facilities Sanitation maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment in Production A, B & C, and other designated spaces. This role involves performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the production area’s appearance and hygiene meet or exceed established food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Floor Care:
- Maintain and care for the industrial production floor. Concrete.
- Operate floor cleaning equipment, such as ride-on floor scrubbers and floor polishers as well as mopping around equipment at lunch/break and end of shift.
- Address spills promptly to prevent accidents and damage.
2. Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces on various sections of the production line.
- Cleaning of production equipment that is down or between changeovers. This may include wiping down inline, or cleaning production line parts in the wash bay.
- Maintain production wash stations and fixtures.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners. Removing waste from production throughout the day.
3. Supply Management:
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables.
- Report any supply shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
4. Safety and Security:
- Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
5. Waste Management:
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and follow recycling protocols.
- Operate and maintain waste compactors and recycling equipment.
6. Customer Service:
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and customers.
- Respond to cleaning requests or inquiries promptly and courteously.
7. Documentation:
- Maintain records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and maintenance tasks.
- Complete cleaning checklists and reports as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
