General Functions:
The Facilities Support Assistant supports the Facilities Team in maintaining CITC's assets and facilities across the greater Anchorage area and Matanuska Valley. This position ensures the day-to-day maintenance needs of building-related systems, fleet vehicles, and grounds are met through responsive service delivery. Working in partnership with our people, the Facilities Support Assistant develops opportunities that fulfill our endless potential by maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming environments for all CITC staff and participants. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle diverse maintenance and support tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilities Support Assistant I
- Provide responsive and professional customer service to all CITC staff, participants, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Support fleet maintenance program including studded tire swaps, oil changes, vehicle transport for service, and safety equipment checks for all CITC vehicles.
- Complete facilities work tickets as assigned and assist in scheduling fleet service using fleet management system.
- Perform vehicle cleaning and detailing services between reservations, ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, and fueled for transport needs.
- Assist with daily mail distribution for CITC departments and affiliates as needed.
- Execute daily startup activities including snow clearing and vehicle repositioning during winter months.
- Support conference room setup for scheduled meetings and events at RCC.
- Perform all assigned duties following AKOSH and OSHA safety and health standards.
- Report accidents, incidents, or traffic violations immediately to supervisor and complete necessary documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of CITC participants and staff following all applicable rules governing confidentiality, HIPAA, and CFR 25.
- Participate in scheduled internal and external meetings and training as directed.
- Assist Safety Officers as needed and obey all Alaska traffic laws while maintaining clean driving record.
- Support furniture and equipment moving and installation throughout CITC facilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Facilities Support Assistant II
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of Facilities Support Assistant I with a higher level of proficiency.
- Coordinate purchase and delivery of supplies from vendors.
- Communicate with CITC staff regarding fleet management and maintenance needs.
- Provide repair quotes to Manager/Supervisor for approval of major vehicle-related repairs.
- Schedule, assign, and check out fleet vehicles using fleet management system.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Continued employment is contingent upon completion of satisfactory state and federal fingerprint criminal background check.
- Valid Alaska driver's license and insurable under CITC's automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver's license for at least three years.
- Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid Certification within six (6) months of hire.
Facilities Support Assistant I
- High school diploma or GED.
Facilities Support Assistant II
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience working in facilities, fleet maintenance, or related field.
- Proficient in the use of basic hand tools and performing essential functions.

- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner.
- Regularly perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials.
- Occasionally perform sedentary activities that require sitting for long periods and repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms for handling, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
- The ability to wear the appropriate PPE.
- Possible exposure to hazardous equipment, tools, noise, and contaminants such as mold, dust, household cleaning solvents, paints and fertilizers.
- Works indoors and outdoors, exposure to various weather conditions.
