Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for farming and a strong commitment to maintaining the health and productivity of our farm operations. This role involves a variety of tasks that support the day-to-day functions of the farm, including animal care and equipment maintenance.
Duties
- Assist in the daily care and feeding of livestock, ensuring their health and well-being through proper animal practices.
- This will include picking up dead chickens, culling out sick or injured chickens and properly disposing dead and culled out chickens.
- Conduct regular inspections of farm facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs. (Checking water lines daily for correct water flow and ensuring there are no leaks, also checking feed lines to ensure feed is always avaiable to the chickens) you must contact farm manager immediately if a problem arises.
- Collaborate with farm manager/owner to achieve farm goals while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in animal handling and care, particularly with chickens.
- A willingness to learn about growing practices and animal techniques.
- Ability to work outdoors/indoors in various weather conditions while performing physically demanding tasks.
- Job will be quite warm and labor intensive at times,especially in the summer months. It will also be quite dusty.
- Must be able to life at least 50lbs.
- Must be able to work 6 days a week, not always consecutive.
