The Field Service Associate is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated machinery and equipment at greenhouse sites in the US and Canada. This is an entry-level field-based position with significant travel requirements and excellent opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated machinery and equipment in greenhouses and nurseries (including conveyors, hoppers, potting machines, transplanters)
- Diagnose hardware and programming issues, and collaborate with appropriate teams to implement corrective actions
- Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on automation systems
- Provide technical support to clients, including onsite training on equipment operations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and assist in the development of new automation solutions
Promptly and accurately document all repairs, upgrades, and maintenance activities
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience or trade certification.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems including installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits (including VFD’s, PLC’s, photo-eyes, encoders) and mechanical systems (including pneumatic actuators, motors, gear boxes, chain drives).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and methodical troubleshooting skills
Proactive communication with home office Remote Support staff.- Ability to clearly explain the root cause of an issue and the corrective action to the customer
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised at customer locations
- Flexibility to travel up to 100% to different client sites and work flexible hours as needed. Travel is typically within the work week, but occasional weekend work/travel will be required based on customer requirements and project location.
- Valid driver's license and able to travel to Canada if needed; Ability to obtain a passport.
