Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Fire Safety Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting fire door and fire damper inspections and performing necessary repairs, primarily in hospital settings. This role requires proficiency in using a computer and mobile applications to document work. Some overnight travel will be required as part of the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of fire doors and fire dampers in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Complete necessary repairs and maintenance as identified during inspections.
- Use a laptop and mobile applications to accurately document inspection findings and repair work.
- Regularly walk throughout hospital facilities with inspection equipment and cart.
- Climb ladders and inspect areas above ceiling grids for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
- Travel for work assignments, which may include overnight stays—sometimes for up to a week or longer.
- Travel may involve driving a company vehicle or flying to out-of-state job sites.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using computers and mobile applications for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including extended walking, climbing ladders, and overhead inspections.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.
- Previous experience in fire safety inspections, building maintenance, or a related field is a plus (but not required).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in a related field is a plus.
- Ability to travel overnight as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must submit and pass a drug screening.
