EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Provides ambulance/emergency medical and rescue services; assists in the total range of fire protection and suppression services including alarm responses, combating and extinguishing fires, housekeeping, desk watch, drills, and maintenance, serves as emergency medical technician for all 911 emergency calls;
QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold and maintain valid Driver's License; must be a current paramedic or currently enrolled in a paramedic program. Must be able to achieve paramedic certification within one year of hire date; preference given to applicants who have completed the Mass. Firefighting Recruit Program; preference given to applicants who offer work experience with an organized Fire Department. Must not smoke, must pass Massachusetts medical and physical agility test standards for firefighters and CORI and background check. A 15 mile residency clause must be met 6 months after end of probation.
WORK HOURS: 24 hour shift schedule (1 on – 1 off – 1 on – 5 off)
LOCATION: FIRE DEPARTMENT - 2770 Boston Road (Headquarters) and Woodland Dell Road (Station 2)
STARTING SALARY: $29.84/hr ($1,253.28 weekly base pay), With EMT Certification add 6% of base pay, With AEMT Certification add 10% of base pay, With Paramedic Certification add 12% of base pay, Union Benefits per Contract
