Fiscal Assistant II
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.
This position is responsible for ensuring that vendors are paid in accordance with University and State of Florida rules and regulations, and confers with faculty, department staff, Service Chiefs and Cost Center Supervisors to provide information about expenditures and verify accuracy of same.
Cross-trains and serves as backup for Sr. Fiscal Assistant (LP #00012582) and Fiscal Assistant II (LP #00011722).
- Using PeopleSoft, spreadsheets, etc., for data entry, approving purchasing card transactions, approve travel and purchase requisitions, and processing direct journal deposits.
- Run PeopleSoft queries to monitor processing of approved P-Card transactions, identify vouchers, and resolve budget errors.
- Scans documents for upload into P-Card vouchers in PeopleSoft, copies and files P-Card documentation, and cross-trains with other staff for various office related duties.
- Maintain knowledge of P-Card and PeopleSoft procedures and inform faculty and staff of new procedures and training as appropriate; knowledge of sources and uses of various funds utilized by the College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Hospital departments.
- Primary backup for Fiscal Assistant I position #00028906 in the preparation of daily deposits of Veterinary Hospital receipts into the FVMFA Practice Plan’s bank account.
$19.00 - $21.00 an hour
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience.

- Proficient with PC applications
- Ability to work independently, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices; skilled in data collection and report preparation
