The Position:
As a Float RN/Infusion RN Trainer, you will play an essential role in providing specialized care to patients receiving infusions. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to administer medications, monitor patients' response to treatment, and ensure their overall well-being. Training Specialist to act as designated trainer when onboarding new hires, new practices or re-training as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing the patient's health as well as detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and will need to know when action is necessary.
- Responsible for providing clinical infusion services, additionally responsible for obtaining vital signs, assessing health of patient prior to administration of biologic medication, insertions and discontinuations of peripheral intravenous catheter, mixing/monitoring of medications, administering premeds and administering medications in response to changes in patient’s condition, making follow up appointments, answering telephone, ensuring accurate and timely documentation per company Policy and Procedures, cleaning equipment between patients etc.
- Responsible for reviewing diagnostic as well as laboratory data and report abnormal results to treating physician and/or other healthcare provider.
- Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a accurate timely fashion.
- Assists with drug inventory management-daily inventory, ordering, monitoring of refrigerator temperatures.
- Assists with maintaining unit equipment, safety checks, cleaning and promptly reporting any issues.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Responsible for training and onboarding new hires as needed.
- Responsible for assisting in the onboarding, or start-up, of new practices and infusions suites to AHG.
- Responsible for providing coverage in other practices as needed.
- Responsible for any re-training needs among infusion nursing staff.
- Heavy travel to existing and future AHG practices.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree.
- RN Degree.
- Active - State Nursing License.
- 2 years’ experience working in a healthcare facility and 1 year working with medical payers including Medicare,
- Minimum 3 years experience inserting IV’s and infusion experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience training team members.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems. NextGen.
- Working knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding practices.
- Excellent organizational skills.
