Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Folklórico Teacher to join our dance faculty. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in traditional Mexican folklórico dance, a passion for cultural preservation, and the ability to engage students of all ages in learning authentic technique, history, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Teach folklórico classes to students of different ages and levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate technique, choreography, history, and cultural significance of each region’s dances.
- Provide individual and group instruction with attention to proper posture, style, and stage presence.
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, and/or competitions.
- Promote respect and appreciation for Mexican culture and traditions within the classroom.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to support the studio’s vision and artistic goals.
- Stay current with folklórico repertoire and regional styles.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in Mexican folklórico dance, with performance or teaching experience.
- Knowledge of regional differences, traditional attire, and cultural context.
- Previous teaching experience in a studio/school/community setting or Folklorico Performance experience.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and ability to motivate students.
- Passion for preserving and sharing cultural traditions.
