Compensation: $18 hour
About The Zone:
The Zone is a safe, supportive afterschool program serving local youth in grades 7–12. We provide teens with meals, mentorship, recreation, and life skills programming—all at no cost to families. We are seeking a passionate and organized Food Program Coordinator to help us continue feeding and supporting youth in our community.
Position Summary:
The Food Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving daily meals and snacks to youth participants, managing food inventory, coordinating food donations, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen space. This person plays a key role in ensuring youth receive nutritious, fun, and appealing meals each day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan weekly lunch and snack menus, aligned with program activities and youth preferences
- Prepare and serve daily meals/snacks to youth
- Grocery shop weekly and manage food inventory
- Coordinate food donations and community drives
- Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are followed
- Maintain organized kitchen, pantry, fridge, and freezer
- Create a positive and caring mealtime environment
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with youth and supporting their well-being
- Experience in food service or nutrition (preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage time, multitask, and stay calm under pressure

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
