FINISHED PRODUCT FORKLIFT /STACKER OPERATOR
Job Description
- Inspects freezer and racks for damage. Any problems should be immediately documented and reported to Supervisor or Manager. Finished Product Forklift Operator (FPFO) assumes responsibility for any damage not documented and reported.
- Check forklift for damage and proper functioning. Any problems should be immediately documented on the Forklift Operation Log and reported to Supervisor or Manager. Finished Product Forklift Operator (FPFO) assumes responsibility for any damage not documented and reported to Supervisor or Manager before shift begins.
- Obtain and verify finished product barcode labels. Apply and scan barcodes to assign pallet identification to each pallet produced. Create, apply, and scan barcodes to mix pallets at start-up and label these pallets appropriately.
- Manage freezer inventory and maintain Finished Product inventory stored in freezer.
- Insure that finished product conveyor is operating correctly and that all finished product is moved into the freezer in a timely manner.
- Check and maintain tape on case sealer.
- Check and maintain stretch wrap on stretch wrapper.
- Assist in robot operation including: troubleshooting, maintaining pallets in pallet feeder, maintaining pallet pads, etc.
- Review full containers for compliance to specifications
- Check code dates
- Maintain ink supply on the case coder
- Assist in keeping pallets of boxes and ends available to box machine operator.
- Load pallets of finished product in the appropriate freezer racks as needed.
- Maintain clean work area in freezer and stacking areas.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Individual must have or be able to do:
- Have valid, updated forklift license issued by GSF
- Total and full range of motion physical
- Lift and 80+ pounds
- All senses for organoleptic check of raw material, i.e., sight, smell, etc
- Constant standing, walking, and moving
- Wearing protective equipment and/or clothing as required
- Working in an area with temperatures from 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and occasionally in temperatures of less than 10 degrees Fahrenheit
- Learn bar coding, using bar-coding equipment
- Good reading, writing, and communication skills
This position requires consistent standing, walking and working in constant temperatures of -10°F to 50°F. Requires bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lift up to 80 lbs., reading, able to do math. Must be able to use a scanner and computer. Must be able to see, hear and communicate problems that might occur
Duty Steps

Operate forklift in accordance with GSF forklift operating procedures
- Have a valid forklift operator’s license
- Perform operational and safety inspection prior to operating the forklift and report any problems to supervisor
- Responsible for the safe operation of assigned forklift

Supply Raw Materials to Grinding Room
- Use raw products line up list in accordance with product pack dates

Raw materials are labeled with the following information:
- Type of raw material
- Name of supplier
- P.O. or lot number
- Quantity

Fresh combos of boneless beef are staged along the rear wall of the grinding room
- Combos shall be away from the curb and space for access of product inspection
- Stage frozen product in designated area at black conveyor
- Pallet of frozen blocks shall be placed on the floor between the blender station and the block conveyor belt
- There will not be more than two combos of trim and four combos of lean product staged on the floor in the grinding room at any time
- All materials should have cleared all required testing. (Never use any product with hold tags on it)

Raw material inspection

Remove any combo cover and any other material that may prevent the meat from being emptied form the combo
- Fold liner over the outer edge of the combo; securely tape the liner around the outside of the combo
- Visually check and smell the product for any foreign material or off odor

Communication with first grinder and blender operators

Do not use any product with a “Quality Assurance” hold tag
- At QA request, bring specified raw meat to grinding room for sample to be obtained
- Inform Grinder Operator if material being used is for Quality Assurance test
- Provide Blender Operator and Grinder Operator with information from the raw materials line up sheet.

Loading and unload vat dumper

Loading Vat Dumper
- Set Combo on Dumper Frame
- Do not ram dumper with forks or pallets while loading
- Center combo between the two hold down arms
- Combo must be place securely on the dumper
- Notify grinder operator that the combo is ready to lift

Unloading Vat Dumper
- Place empty pallet in designated area

Loading Vat Dumper
Note: remove completed stacks to back dock
- Remove straps, tape, and plastic from the empty combo and place in trash bin
- Place empty combo in designate area

Removing partially filled combos
- Recover the product and record weight
- Store partial with same lot number
- Forklift combo away and set it in the chill room
