Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented FSQA Assistant for the second shift to support our Food Safety and Quality Assurance team and the organization. In this role, you will help maintain food safety programs, conduct inspections and monitoring, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to switch tasks as needed to support the FSQA department’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality assurance programs.
- Conduct monitoring of CCPs, CQPs, and other quality control points; ensure accurate documentation.
- Perform calibrations and verifications of instruments and routine checks on ingredients, in-process, and finished products.
- Support the development and upkeep of policies, procedures, and records related to food safety and quality.
- Lead or assist with staff training on food safety and quality topics, including translation support (Spanish/English) as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality or safety concerns.
- Assist in investigating and documenting customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
- Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
- Collect, package, and transport samples safely; upload data to company systems.
- Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and other tasks as assigned; remain flexible to support department needs.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish; basic English comprehension is required.
- High school diploma required. Experience in the food industry is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, ethical integrity, and reliability.
- Comfortable using technology and personal devices for work purposes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, overtime, and weekends.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to moving equipment, chemicals, airborne particles, and temperature extremes.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 10 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
- Close, distance, peripheral, and color vision required, along with manual dexterity.
Working Hours:
Tentative work schedule: Second shift, 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, or 8-hour days Monday through Friday. Typical start time: 3:00 PM (may vary).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
