Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Non-Medical Dementia Caregiver to provide companionship and support to individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. The role involves assisting with daily tasks, promoting engagement, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:Daily Living Assistance:
- Support with routine tasks such as dressing, grooming, and light housekeeping, as needed.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure the individual stays hydrated.
- Help organize and maintain a clean, safe, and clutter-free living environment.
Companionship and Engagement:
- Spend quality time engaging in meaningful activities, including conversation, games, music, and hobbies tailored to the individual's interests.
- Accompany the individual on walks, outings, or errands when appropriate.
- Foster a positive and calming atmosphere to ease anxiety and confusion.
Cognitive and Emotional Support:
- Provide reminders for daily routines and encourage participation in activities.
- Offer emotional reassurance and support to enhance the individual's quality of life.
- Redirect attention as needed to mitigate moments of agitation or disorientation.
Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure a secure environment by minimizing risks and hazards in the home.
- Monitor the individual to prevent wandering or unsafe behaviors.
- Maintain a respectful awareness of the individual's condition and adapt care accordingly.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 46 per week
