Full-time & Part-time grill cook positions are now being filled at our IGC Cafe in the Indiana Government Center.
Shifts available Monday - Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (shifts vary).
Closed Weekends & Holidays!
The Grill cook is responsible for preparing food and serving customers at the grill station in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided. The Grill cook must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. The Grill cook must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety and sanitation procedures, follow food storage procedures, and have an excellent knowledge of customer service.

Requirements
- Arrives in proper uniform and adheres to all grooming standards.
- Sets up station according to cafe guidelines.
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follows portion control and presentation specifications as set by the café.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
- Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
- Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerance.
- Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping the floors, cleaning surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures.
- Work at an efficient and consistent pace.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling is required.
- Effective communication skills.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Has the ability to deal with changes.
- Willingness to assist in other tasks when asked.
- Prior work in a high-volume kitchen is preferred but not required.
