Job Title: Security Officer - Armed
Job Summary: The Armed Security Officer provides for the safety and security of client property and personnel by following the client's post orders and Andy Frain policy while maintaining a professional image and security presence and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities: All responsibilities are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner and in accordance with client and/or Andy Frain policies and procedures.
Responsibilities may vary from location to location but will typically consist of the
following:
Controls access to client property as required. Monitoring entrances and exits to prevent unlawful or unapproved entry.
Patrols client property on foot or in vehicle; deters theft or vandalism and checks for unsafe conditions, security violations and unauthorized persons.
Responds to unusual or emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force level up to an including armed response as dictated by situation and protocol.
Maintains proficiency in the use of all required protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons as required for licensing.
Provides excellent customer service; provides a courteous, respectful and pleasant interaction with each client employee and visitor. Presents a good impression of the client and Andy Frain by maintaining a professional image and greeting people in a polite and friendly manner.
Responds to accidents, conditions, emergencies or incidents in accordance with
established procedures and/or through training or certification; assists as required,
protects evidence and provides direction or information to others.
Prepares logs or reports as required; recording accidents, activity, incidents, and
observations. Writes and/or types and/or enters information on paper or in a computer using standard grammar and punctuation.
Acts to ensure that all client policies are enforced; preserving order and enforcing regulations regarding personnel, visitors, premises and property.
Monitors closed circuit television (CCTV), access control systems, fire /life safety
equipment and alarms and intrusion detection equipment and alarms.
Provides escorts of materials and people as required.
Completes other similar tasks as required by circumstance or post order.

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Minimum
Qualifications:
The following are the minimum qualifications of the job. Additional qualifications

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a citizen of the United States or lawful permanent resident.
Have a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma.
Possess a reliable means of communication (i.e. phone).
Possess a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
Pass a criminal background check, in accordance with State/Federal law and guidelines.
Pass a physical examination (contract specific).
Pass a pre‐employment drug test.
Possess a valid driver's license, as required for duty.
Pass an employment and personal history check, in accordance with State/Federal law and guidelines.
Possess an active security license in compliance with state requirements.
Possess basic aptitudes and physical abilities including; color perception, visual acuity, physical coordination, motor skills, meeting lifting requirements (pass the Fit for Duty).
Law Enforcement, security or military background – preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers.
- Pushing/pulling/carrying lifting may include up to 50 lbs, stair climbing.
- Normal vision or corrected by use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities.
- Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, climb stairs and walk as required to perform the duties associated with functioning as a security officer.
